Not every home is laid out perfectly for the family living in it. Sometimes rooms are the wrong size for their intended purpose. Sometimes the official dining room would be better used as a playroom. Sometimes a spare bedroom doesn't know what it's supposed to be.
Orderly Nest's space planning service helps Utah families figure out how to use their home's square footage in a way that actually matches their life.
What Space Planning Solves
Space planning addresses the gap between how a home is laid out and how a family actually lives. Common situations where space planning helps include: a growing family that has run out of storage, a home office that doesn't have a dedicated room, a mudroom area that doesn't exist but desperately needs to, a basement that could be used as more than storage, or a bonus room that's become a dumping ground because no one decided what it should be.
Amber and her team help you look at your home's full footprint and think through how each space can best serve your household.
Space Planning for Multi-Function Rooms
Many Utah homes have rooms that need to serve multiple purposes. A guest bedroom that's also a home office. A playroom that's also a homework space. A family room that's also a workout area. Space planning for multi-function rooms is about making sure the room can do both jobs well, with clear zones and storage that supports each function.
Before You Buy Furniture or Storage
One of the most common and expensive home mistakes is purchasing furniture or storage systems before you've figured out the plan for the space. Orderly Nest's space planning service can help you make those decisions with clarity, so you spend money on what will actually work rather than what seemed like a good idea in the store.
We organize anything in your home: kitchens, pantries, closets, playrooms, garages, storage rooms, home offices, etc. No space is too messy or overwhelming—we’ve seen it all!
We just need you at the start for decluttering decisions, reachable for check-ins along the way, and available at the end to wrap up. If you’re working from home or need to step out briefly, that’s totally fine! We never discard anything without your OK.
Yep! We’re moms. We know how to work around kids.
Not necessarily! We always work with what you already have when possible. If products would make a big difference, we’ll offer suggestions—and you can choose to shop yourself or use our optional Shopping Service.
For a $35 fee, we’ll take care of shopping for all the organizing products you need and handle any returns for you. You’ll just reimburse us for the cost of the items—we always check in with you first to confirm the total before making any purchases.
Every session includes decluttering guidance and hands-on organizing, product recommendations, custom labeling, and donation haul-away. We’ll create systems that actually work for your lifestyle—not just ones that look good in photos.
It depends on the size and complexity of the space. In a 5-hour session, we can usually complete one area (like a pantry, closet, or laundry room). Larger or more cluttered spaces often take multiple sessions.
While we’re not a cleaning service, we always tidy and wipe down surfaces as we organize. You’ll definitely feel a fresh, reset vibe when we’re done!
Never judgmental—truly. We meet every client with compassion and zero shame, no matter what your space looks like. That said, decluttering can feel overwhelming at times, and that’s completely normal. We’re here to guide you through it at your pace, never pressuring you to make a decision you’re not ready for. Our goal is to make the process feel as easy and supportive as possible.
Yes! If you don’t see something we offer, just ask! We can help with move-ins, downsizing a loved one, decluttering after loss, or setting up a craft space. We’re happy to tailor our services to your needs. Just ask—we’ll figure it out together.
Yes! Whether it’s mail, school papers, or office stuff, we create simple, sustainable systems for managing it.
While our main focus is function, we love making spaces look good too! We aren’t designers, but can help with layout, product picks, and light styling. Think practical with a touch of pretty!
