Move-In Organization

Start Right In Your New Home.

Moving into a new home gives you a rare opportunity: the chance to build your organization systems from scratch, before habits form and before the clutter accumulates. Most families don't take advantage of this window because they're exhausted from the move. Instead, they unpack in survival mode, and the "temporary" placement of items becomes permanent.

Orderly Nest's move-in organization service helps Utah families use that window wisely.

Why Move-In Is the Best Time to Get Organized

Every home has a learning curve. Where does the light switch go? Where does the silverware drawer make the most sense? Which cabinet is closest to the stove? You're making hundreds of small decisions in the first days of living in a new home, and those decisions become habits.

Getting professional help at this stage means those habits are built on intentional systems, not on whatever was fastest to figure out when you were exhausted. Starting organized is dramatically easier than reorganizing later.

What Move-In Organization Covers

Orderly Nest works through your new home systematically. Kitchen setup is typically first, because a functional kitchen affects every meal and every day. From there, the service covers bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, the pantry, and any other areas that need attention.

Each space gets set up based on how your family will use it in this specific home. Amber and her team consider the layout, the storage capacity, your family's habits, and your priorities to create systems that fit your new space.

For Families Relocating to Utah

If you're moving to Utah from out of state, Orderly Nest can help you settle in quickly and comfortably. Amber and her team are familiar with the kinds of homes in Utah County and Salt Lake County and can help you make the most of your new space from day one.

Getting organized at move-in means you can focus on the other parts of adjusting to a new community, schools, neighborhoods, and all the things that make a new place feel like home.

FAQs

What types of spaces do you organize?

We organize anything in your home: kitchens, pantries, closets, playrooms, garages, storage rooms, home offices, etc. No space is too messy or overwhelming—we’ve seen it all!

Do I need to be home during the session?

We just need you at the start for decluttering decisions, reachable for check-ins along the way, and available at the end to wrap up. If you’re working from home or need to step out briefly, that’s totally fine! We never discard anything without your OK.

Can my kids be home?

Yep! We’re moms. We know how to work around kids.

Will I need to buy organizing products?

Not necessarily! We always work with what you already have when possible. If products would make a big difference, we’ll offer suggestions—and you can choose to shop yourself or use our optional Shopping Service.

What is your optional Shopping Service?

For a $35 fee, we’ll take care of shopping for all the organizing products you need and handle any returns for you. You’ll just reimburse us for the cost of the items—we always check in with you first to confirm the total before making any purchases.

What’s included in an organizing session?

Every session includes decluttering guidance and hands-on organizing, product recommendations, custom labeling, and donation haul-away. We’ll create systems that actually work for your lifestyle—not just ones that look good in photos.

How long does it take to organize a space?

It depends on the size and complexity of the space. In a 5-hour session, we can usually complete one area (like a pantry, closet, or laundry room). Larger or more cluttered spaces often take multiple sessions.

Do you clean too?

While we’re not a cleaning service, we always tidy and wipe down surfaces as we organize. You’ll definitely feel a fresh, reset vibe when we’re done!

Is this going to be overwhelming or judgmental?

Never judgmental—truly. We meet every client with compassion and zero shame, no matter what your space looks like. That said, decluttering can feel overwhelming at times, and that’s completely normal. We’re here to guide you through it at your pace, never pressuring you to make a decision you’re not ready for. Our goal is to make the process feel as easy and supportive as possible.

Do you take on custom projects?

Yes! If you don’t see something we offer, just ask! We can help with move-ins, downsizing a loved one, decluttering after loss, or setting up a craft space. We’re happy to tailor our services to your needs. Just ask—we’ll figure it out together.

Can you help with paper clutter?

Yes! Whether it’s mail, school papers, or office stuff, we create simple, sustainable systems for managing it.

Do you offer design or styling services?

While our main focus is function, we love making spaces look good too! We aren’t designers, but can help with layout, product picks, and light styling. Think practical with a touch of pretty!
