Closet Organization in Utah

Start Every Morning in a Space That Works

The closet is one of the first spaces you interact with every morning and one of the last every night. When it's chaotic, it sets a frustrating tone for the day. When it works, you find what you need in seconds, and your morning routine actually stays on track.

Orderly Nest specializes in closet organization for Utah families, from small reach-ins to large walk-in master closets, kids' closets that need to be kid-friendly, and linen closets that hold everything a household needs to run.

What Makes Closet Organization Work

The biggest factor in whether a closet stays organized is whether the system makes sense for the person using it. A system that works for one person's wardrobe and habits will fail completely for someone else's. Orderly Nest builds closet systems around how you actually dress, not around an abstract ideal.

Before anything gets reorganized, Amber helps you go through the clothes and belongings currently in the closet. This step is non-negotiable. Organizing a closet full of clothes you don't wear doesn't solve anything. Getting the inventory right first is what makes the system work afterward.

What Closet Organization Includes

Orderly Nest handles all types of closet organization, including wardrobe sorting and categorizing, the setup of hanging sections, shelf organization, drawer systems, shoe organization, accessory storage, and seasonal rotation strategies.

For master closets shared between two people, Amber makes sure both sides work for the person using them. For kids' closets, she designs systems that kids can realistically maintain on their own as they get older.

You Don't Need a Custom Closet to Be Organized

A common misconception is that you need an expensive custom closet system to be organized. That's not true. Many closets that function extremely well use nothing but standard shelf systems and a few targeted organizers purchased at places like Target or IKEA.

What matters more than the products is the thoughtfulness of the system. Are your most-worn items most accessible? Is there a clear home for every category of clothing? Can you see everything you own without digging? Those are the questions that determine whether your closet works.

That said, if a custom closet system is something you're considering, Orderly Nest can help you think through what configuration would serve you best before you make that investment.

FAQs

What types of spaces do you organize?

We organize anything in your home: kitchens, pantries, closets, playrooms, garages, storage rooms, home offices, etc. No space is too messy or overwhelming—we’ve seen it all!

Do I need to be home during the session?

We just need you at the start for decluttering decisions, reachable for check-ins along the way, and available at the end to wrap up. If you’re working from home or need to step out briefly, that’s totally fine! We never discard anything without your OK.

Can my kids be home?

Yep! We’re moms. We know how to work around kids.

Will I need to buy organizing products?

Not necessarily! We always work with what you already have when possible. If products would make a big difference, we’ll offer suggestions—and you can choose to shop yourself or use our optional Shopping Service.

What is your optional Shopping Service?

For a $35 fee, we’ll take care of shopping for all the organizing products you need and handle any returns for you. You’ll just reimburse us for the cost of the items—we always check in with you first to confirm the total before making any purchases.

What’s included in an organizing session?

Every session includes decluttering guidance and hands-on organizing, product recommendations, custom labeling, and donation haul-away. We’ll create systems that actually work for your lifestyle—not just ones that look good in photos.

How long does it take to organize a space?

It depends on the size and complexity of the space. In a 5-hour session, we can usually complete one area (like a pantry, closet, or laundry room). Larger or more cluttered spaces often take multiple sessions.

Do you clean too?

While we’re not a cleaning service, we always tidy and wipe down surfaces as we organize. You’ll definitely feel a fresh, reset vibe when we’re done!

Is this going to be overwhelming or judgmental?

Never judgmental—truly. We meet every client with compassion and zero shame, no matter what your space looks like. That said, decluttering can feel overwhelming at times, and that’s completely normal. We’re here to guide you through it at your pace, never pressuring you to make a decision you’re not ready for. Our goal is to make the process feel as easy and supportive as possible.

Do you take on custom projects?

Yes! If you don’t see something we offer, just ask! We can help with move-ins, downsizing a loved one, decluttering after loss, or setting up a craft space. We’re happy to tailor our services to your needs. Just ask—we’ll figure it out together.

Can you help with paper clutter?

Yes! Whether it’s mail, school papers, or office stuff, we create simple, sustainable systems for managing it.

Do you offer design or styling services?

While our main focus is function, we love making spaces look good too! We aren’t designers, but can help with layout, product picks, and light styling. Think practical with a touch of pretty!
